The Tramex CDIK Concrete Determinator Inspector Kit is the full Determinator set for flooring inspectors who produce documented slab surveys. It combines the digital CMEX5, the Determinator in-slab moisture probe, a Hygro-i2 relative humidity probe and the accessories to calibrate-check the meter and assess surface temperature and dew point.

What the kit does
The CMEX5 gives non-destructive moisture content at the slab surface. Pressed onto the Determinator cradle, with the probe in a pre-drilled 19 mm hole, it reads moisture content within the body of the slab to about 100 mm, in the Tramex Unified Moisture Content Test Method – reading from the bottom up, so you can tell whether moisture is coming from below or above. The Hygro-i2 probe adds in-situ relative humidity, the infrared thermometer gives surface temperature for dew point, and the check plate confirms the meter is reading correctly before the survey.

Tramex has not published a separate data sheet for the CDIK. Ask us for the kit's case size and weight if you need them for freight.
Which Determinator kit do I need?
The three kits differ by what is in the case, not by how the probe works.
CDK Concrete Determinator Kit — the probe and case only. No meter. Choose this if you already own a Tramex CME instrument.
CDTK Technicians Kit — probe plus the CMEX5 meter. The working combination for a contractor starting from nothing.
CDIK Inspector Kit — everything in the Technicians Kit plus a Hygro-i2 relative humidity probe, calibration check plate, infrared thermometer, hole liners and extension handle. Specified where a full documented survey is required.
Not on its own. The kit includes one Hygro-i2 probe and hole liners, but ASTM F2170 calls for three test locations for the first 100 m² and one more for each additional 100 m². Add Hygro-i2 probes or the AP-F2170-B pack. A Hygro-i2 probe connects to the CMEX5 through the RHIE2B interface cable – ask us to confirm before ordering if you need one.
How deep does the Determinator read?
In-situ moisture content in the top 19 mm layer and within the body of the slab to an extendable depth of about 100 mm. A slab can be dry on top while still holding moisture below, and the probe is what shows it.
Is the Determinator a replacement for a relative humidity test?
No. It gives quantitative moisture content in the Tramex Unified Moisture Content Test Method. In-situ relative humidity testing is a separate measurement, which is why this kit includes the Hygro-i2 probe. Which one a specification calls for depends on the flooring manufacturer and the standard — ask us if you are unsure.
Is a phone included?
No. The Tramex Meters app is a free download for iOS and Android and runs on your own device.
