The Wagner WFP400 Professional Flooring Installer Kit is a complete, professional moisture-testing kit for flooring installers working with timber, engineered wood and other high-value flooring materials. It gives the readings you need to confirm timber floors are installed on a properly prepared subfloor, helping prevent warping, cupping and adhesive failure.
It combines two systems in one case: the Orion 950 pinless timber moisture meter and a Rapid RH® L6 starter kit for in-situ relative humidity testing of concrete slabs, plus Smart Loggers for ambient conditions.
Key Features and Benefits
Pinless timber moisture meter (Orion 950): measures timber moisture without damaging the boards while giving deep readings. Our listing states it automatically detects Rapid RH L6 sensors and stores their readings, integrating timber and concrete moisture data.
Rapid RH L6 Smart Sensors: measure relative humidity and temperature in concrete slabs to verify the substrate is ready for timber installation.
Standard compliance: the sensors are designed for testing to ASTM F2170, with ±2% RH accuracy (Wagner).
Bluetooth data logging: record RH, temperature and timber moisture readings wirelessly and store the data for reporting or compliance documentation.
Non-invasive timber readings: pinless technology avoids damage to timber surfaces, which suits finished or pre-finished flooring.
Smart Logger for ambient monitoring: tracks ambient RH and temperature on site while you are away; access the readings later for analysis or client reports.
Durable, portable kit: hard-shell carrying case with foam inserts protects meters and sensors in transport and on site.
Complete sensor and tool kit: L6 sensors, sensor caps with seals, stainless steel covers, sleeve extensions, a drill bit, an insertion tool and a vacuum attachment for clean installation.
Infrared thermometer: quickly checks surface temperature for timber and adhesive readiness.
On-Demand Calibration: keeps the Orion meter accurate across jobs without sending it away for calibration.
Why Flooring Installers Choose It
Protects your timber investment: measures timber and slab moisture to prevent post-installation problems.
Saves time and reduces callbacks: fast, precise readings confirm site readiness efficiently.
Professional documentation: Bluetooth logging and app-based reporting let you give clients thorough moisture reports.
Built for job sites: made to withstand transport and frequent use.
Versatile: suits hardwood, engineered timber, parquet and other flooring over concrete or plywood subfloors.

Survey First, Then Test
Pinless and electrical meters are survey tools: they show where the wettest areas are. The in-situ relative humidity test to ASTM F2170, done with Rapid RH L6 sensors, is the test flooring manufacturers generally ask for before timber, vinyl or other moisture-sensitive floors go down. Check the flooring and adhesive manufacturer's limits, and the Australian standard your specification calls up, before interpreting any result.
Drill the test holes to the depth the standard requires for your slab and drying conditions, clean them with the brush and vacuum attachment, and insert the sensor to the bottom of the hole with the insertion tool.
Seal each hole with its protective cap so the sensor reads the slab, not the room.
Let the sensor equilibrate for the time the standard requires before taking the reading that goes in your report.
Record ambient conditions at the same time. The Smart Loggers do this while you are off site.
WFP400 or CFP405?
The WFP400 pairs the Rapid RH L6 starter kit with the Orion 950 timber meter, for installers who test both the timber and the slab. The CFP405 pairs the same starter kit with the C555 concrete moisture meter, for contractors whose work is concrete. More sensors are available in the Smart Sensor 25-pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the pinless meter enough to clear a slab for flooring?
No. The Orion 950 is a timber meter. Slab readiness is decided by the Rapid RH L6 in-situ RH test and the flooring manufacturer's limits.
How many slab tests can I run with the kit?
Five sensors are supplied. Sensors stay in the slab for the test, so order extra sensors for larger jobs or several jobs at once.
Do I need the app?
The Total Reader and meter work on their own. The free Wagner apps make recording and reporting easier.
Is the Celsius or Fahrenheit version supplied?
Wagner makes both. Ask us to confirm which version is in stock before ordering.
Tell us what floors and slabs you test and we will confirm whether the WFP400 or CFP405 suits you before you order. See the full Wagner range.
